✨️FROM SCHOLARSHIP TO SUCCESS: KTDA FOUNDATION SCHOLARS🎓 SHINE💎 ON THE GLOBAL🌏 STAGE🥳

At the heart of the KTDA Foundation’s mission lies a simple but powerful belief: when you invest in education, you invest in the future of communities. Today, we proudly celebrate two of our own—Joel Njuguna Maina and Peter Kagwe—whose academic journeys and personal milestones stand as shining testaments to the life-changing impact of the KTDA Foundation Scholarship Program.

Joel Njuguna Maina: From First-Class Honours to the United Kingdom

A graduate of Mount Kenya University with a First-Class Honours degree in Law (Class of 2024), Joel Njuguna Maina has achieved an extraordinary academic milestone. He has been awarded the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship, a highly competitive and fully funded opportunity, to pursue his Master of Laws (LLM) at the prestigious University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.

“I would like to share with you that I have been awarded the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship (fully funded) to pursue my Master of Laws at the University of Warwick, tenable in the United Kingdom.” — Joel Njuguna Maina

Joel’s message is a powerful reminder of the impact of mentorship and support. He went on to express deep appreciation for those who stood by him during his academic journey:

“I want to sincerely thank you for taking the time to write a recommendation letter on my behalf. Your support played a crucial role in my application’s success and I am truly grateful for your help and belief in me.”

He concluded his message with heartfelt gratitude to the KTDA Foundation:

“Truly grateful to the KTDA Foundation for laying a platform which shaped my life. Looking forward to the next steps.”

Joel’s achievement does not just reflect personal ambition—it is a win for his community, for Kenya, and for all young people who dare to dream beyond their circumstances.

Peter Kagwe: Graduating with Purpose and a Vision to Give Back

Another beacon of excellence is Peter Kagwe, who recently graduated from Kenyatta University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

“Today is my graduation day at Kenyatta University. I successfully completed my BSc. Electrical and Electronics Engineering.” — Peter Kagwe

Peter’s journey is marked not just by academic discipline, but also by a sense of purpose and responsibility. In his message, he underscored his commitment to paying it forward:

“I am sincerely grateful to KTDA Foundation for the support so far, and look forward to mentor the incoming generation of scholars. Thank you @Livingstone and the fraternity.”

His words affirm the long-term ripple effect of educational support—not just in lifting individual lives, but in nurturing a new generation of role models and community builders.

Transforming Lives Through Education

The achievements of Joel and Peter are more than just personal milestones—they are proof points of how the KTDA Foundation Scholarship Program continues to empower bright, hardworking, and visionary youth across Kenya.

Since its inception, the scholarship program has focused on:

  • Providing access to secondary education for students from underserved tea-growing communities
  • Supporting scholars holistically through mentorship, career guidance, and exposure
  • Inspiring a cycle of giving back among alumni to lift the next generation

Each graduate is a seed of change planted in their community. Joel’s journey to a UK university and Peter’s path as an engineer ready to mentor others are vivid illustrations of what is possible when young people are given a chance to succeed.

Lighting the Way Forward

We are incredibly proud of Joel and Peter and look forward to witnessing the next chapters in their remarkable journeys. Their stories are not just their own—they belong to every student who’s ever dreamed of a better future, and every supporter, mentor, and donor who believes in the power of education.

As the KTDA Foundation continues its mission to uplift and empower, we invite you—within and beyond our organization—to join us in shaping futures, one scholarship at a time.

Together, we can ensure that no dream goes unrealized, and no potential goes untapped.
