350+ FARMERS SERVED | A RECORD-BREAKING DAY AT THE KTDA FOUNDATION MEDICAL CAMP DAY 2
Day 2 of the KTDA Foundation Free Medical Camp at Wandumbi Dispensary, Gathuthi Tea Catchment Area, has surpassed all expectations with an incredible turnout of over 350 farmers—a significant rise from Day 1 and a powerful indication of the growing need for accessible healthcare in our tea farming communities. Farmers received a wide range of vital medical services, including intensive eye screening, cervical and breast cancer screening, RBS (blood sugar) testing, TB and lung checks, physiotherapy, HIV testing, mental health and psychological assessments, blood pressure and weight checks, along with medication distribution, eyeglass issuance and referrals for specialized treatment. The overwhelming participation today shows the deep trust farmers have in this medical camp and highlights the reality that many have long gone without essential health services. This remarkable turnout reflects the impact of our collaboration with KTDA Foundation, Gathuthi Tea Factory, the Ministry of Health–Nyeri County, Lions Eye Hospital & Vision Spring, Majani Insurance and Britam. Together, we continue to demonstrate that a healthy tea farmer is a productive farmer, and productive farmers drive higher yields, stronger families, and sustainable tea communities. Day 2 has set an incredible pace for this medical camp, proving that when healthcare is brought closer to the farmer, entire communities stand to benefit.
