🌱 OUR TEA, OUR VOICE: BREWING INCLUSION AND EMPOWERING CHANGE IN THE TEA SECTOR

Across Kenya’s thriving tea landscapes, KTDA Foundation is driving a powerful transformation through its Our Tea Our Voice initiative — a gender inclusion programme currently being implemented in Nyansiongo and Gitugi Tea Factory catchment areas. The project seeks to empower women and youth to confidently embrace their voices, share ideas, and take up leadership roles in the tea sector. Rooted in the belief that every voice matters, Our Tea Our Voice creates safe spaces where communities can hold open dialogues, challenge social norms, and learn to lead with inclusion and respect. From the tea buying centers to factory discussions, these engagements are cultivating confidence, unity, and awareness — sparking a wave of change that strengthens both leadership and community bonds. 🌿

Gender inclusion is not just a goal; it is the foundation for growth. Through meaningful discussions on equity, leadership, and participation, tea farmers and factory staff are beginning to see that diversity in leadership brings balance, innovation, and stronger results. When women and youth are given the opportunity to lead, and when men stand as allies in that journey, communities thrive together. These conversations are helping farmers appreciate that embracing equity is not about replacing one voice with another, but about ensuring that every voice is heard, respected, and valued in shaping the future of the tea sector. 💪🏾

As the world marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month this November, KTDA Foundation stands firmly in solidarity with all efforts to end gender-based violence. The Our Tea Our Voice initiative provides not only a platform for leadership but also for compassion, safety, and equality. By promoting dialogue and unity, the project reaffirms that empowerment begins with awareness — and that a sector built on respect and shared opportunity is one that can truly transform lives. Together, we can end the silence, champion inclusion, and brew a future where every individual, regardless of gender, feels seen, safe, and empowered. 💜✨
