A tremendous milestone has been reached in Kenya’s energy sector! 🎉 We are thrilled to announce the official closure of our Climate Friendly Cooking in Kenya project. This impactful initiative, a successful partnership between GIZ-GCF 🤝 and our implementing partner, the KTDA Foundation, successfully promoted the adoption of improved cooking stoves across the East of Rift and West of Rift regions 📍, leaving a lasting legacy of positive change.
The project’s success is a testament to its alignment with three core pillars of the KTDA Foundation: environmental conservation and sustainability 🌍, health ❤️, and economic empowerment 💪. By championing cleaner and more efficient cooking methods, we’ve not only helped reduce carbon emissions and deforestation but have also significantly improved health outcomes for communities by reducing indoor air pollution. Furthermore, the project has economically empowered families by reducing their spending on cooking fuel, freeing up resources for other critical needs.
To celebrate this monumental achievement, we had the honor of handing over the logbooks for three project-supported tuk-tuks. 🚚 A huge congratulations to our three dedicated mobilizers, Charity Rwamba, Douglas Njagi, and Rebecca Kaari, who received these vehicles. With an impressive 4-tonne carrying capacity, these tuk-tuks will serve as a valuable asset for their continued work! We extend our deepest gratitude to all our partners 🙏 for their unwavering support and commitment to this transformative project.
