🌿 KTDA FOUNDATION HEALTH PILLAR IN ACTION: SANGANYI TEA FACTORY MEDICAL CAMP 2024 🌿

From 29th to 31st October 2024, KTDA Foundation, in partnership with Trinity Energy and the Department of Health Services, Nyamira County, hosted a three-day free medical camp at Mokomoni Health Center in the Sanganyi Tea Factory catchment area.

The camp reached over 3,175 community members, providing vital services including:

  • Screenings for cervical, breast, and prostate cancer
  • Eye check-ups and provision of eyeglasses (577 beneficiaries)
  • Blood pressure, blood sugar, and BMI tests
  • General medical consultations, treatment, and referrals

📊 Key findings revealed a high prevalence of eye-related conditions, hypertension, and obesity, underscoring the importance of sustained health interventions in tea-growing communities. Importantly, patients requiring further specialized care were referred to higher-level facilities.

Beyond medical services, the camp created awareness on preventive health practices and healthy living, ensuring that impact extended beyond the event.

This initiative reaffirmed KTDA Foundation’s commitment under the Health Pillar — making healthcare accessible and improving the quality of life for farmers and their families.

💬 As one participant noted: “The medical camp was excellent. The community is grateful for the free services, as many are in need of medical attention.”

Together, we continue to put farmers first — because a healthier community is a stronger community. 💚
