Momul Water Project

Aim of the project: To provide potable drinking water to the communities (smallholder farmers and workers alike) within the 6 electoral catchment areas around the Momul tea factory.
Project activities:
The project involved spring conservation (i.e. fencing and planting with indigenous trees), laying of draw pipes/standpipes, construction of weirs to hold water, construction of cattle troughs where applicable, and construction of washrooms where applicable. Piped water points will be provided to each of the 6 catchment communities around Momul Tea Factory.

Progress

  1. One water point has been installed in each of the 6 electoral catchment zones surrounding the Momul Tea Factory covering a total of 22 buying centres.
  2. The water points were installed in a total of 22 buying centres within 6 electoral catchment zones surrounding the factory.
