Kathangariri Tea Factory 3-Day Medical Camp

KTDA Foundation in collaboration with the County Department of Health for Embu held a 3-day medical camp from the 9th to 11th of March at Kathangariri Dispensary in Kathangariri Tea Factory catchment. Some of the services offered to the community members included:- rapid blood sugar tests, blood pressure monitoring, nutrition and health talks, cervical and breast cancer screening, general consultation and pharmaceutical services.

The medical camp was preceded with the training of the Community Health Volunteers whose main objective is to equip the volunteers with knowledge in Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) like diabetes, hypertension and the various types of cancers.

The main aim of the camp was to give access to free medical services to the community, which will improve the health of the smallholder tea farmers.
