Wangari Maathai Day Tree Planting
In celebration of Wangari Maathai Day, KTDA Foundation in partnership with GIZ supported the planting of 1220 tree seedlings at Chemor area in Kiptweit Electoral area under the Litein Tea Factory catchment. The event was graced by Mr Theophilus Mitei – Litein/Chelal Tea Factory chairman, Mr Geoffrey Mutai, Director Kiptweit Electoral Area and the Assistant Chief of the Area.
A total of 280 trees were also planted at Gianchore Tea Factory and 796 tree seedlings were planted at Gachege Tea Factory.
KTDA Foundation also partnered with GIZ and Rainforest Alliance and planted a total of 400 trees at Karatina Primary School, Githunguri under Kagwe Tea Factory Catchment. The event was graced by Mr Benson Njoroge – Kagwe Tea Factory Chairman, the FSC and a large number of factory staff.
