In line with the SDG 4 which is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, the KTDA Foundation in its education pillar aims to improve access to secondary school education for bright and financially challenged students and to enhance the quality of education and lifelong learning.

KTDA Foundation boasts of awarding 928 scholarships to needy students in tea catchment areas under the KTDA National Tea Scholarship programme. 330 beneficiaries of the programme have been admitted to university between 2016 to 2019. Two alumni, Poline Njeri and Okemwa Asiago John, from Region 3 and 6, respectively, were among the pioneers of the programme since its commencement in 2013, have both graduated in February 2022.

Poline Njeri , graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Manufacturing and Chemistry with IT on 25th February 2022. The graduate was awarded a scholarship in 2013, where she joined Siakago Girls Secondary School.

Today as I celebrate my success in attaining Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Manufacturing and Chemistry with IT, I give my heartfelt regards to the whole KTDA family for their awesome contribution in my career, Thumaita Tea Factory for believing in me and offering me an opportunity to benefit from the scholarship programme and most important Chebut Tea Factory for offering me an internship chance to enhance my industrial skills.
