With the health component being one of our key pillars, the well-being and health of the small-scale tea farmers is important. One of the interventions that we have put in place is access to basic health care which is achieved through free medical camps in tea growing communities. The pre-requisite of the 3-day medical camp at Iriaini Tea Factory catchment, is training of 10 Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) who today completed a 2-day training to aid in system strengthening in the medical camp and the community. The main objective of the training is to equip the volunteers with knowledge in Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) like diabetes, hypertension and cervical cancer as well as effective tools to use in mobilizing the community to attend the medical camp and gain access to free medical services which will run as from tomorrow, 1st December to 3rd December 2021 at Thunguri Dispensary.
