🌟 8TH KTDA FOUNDATION MENTORSHIP & LIFE SKILLS PROGRAMME2025: INSPIRING FUTURES, EMPOWERING DREAMS 🌟

From 17th–21st August 2025, the KTDA Foundation hosted its 8th Mentorship & Life Skills Programme at Kasarani Sports View Hotel, Nairobi — an unforgettable week that brought together 504 sponsored students from across Kenya, mentors, alumni, industry leaders, and partners in a powerful celebration of education, empowerment, and possibility.

Guided by the theme Every Dream Matters – Where PossibiliTEAs Meet Potential”, the programme blended mentorship, leadership training, life skills, and creative showcases to remind students that their dreams are valid, achievable, and worth fighting for.


🎤 Day 1: Setting the Stage for Inspiration (18th August)

The programme began with energy and conviction, welcoming students into a space of learning and self-discovery. Joseph Njuki spoke on spirituality and purpose, Doris Chepkirui emphasized the power of choice, Dr. Ofweneke energized the audience with a keynote on unlocking talent, and Victor Nyaata closed with reflections on identity and self-belief.

The day’s programme was smoothly guided by MC Splendor Lwoyelo, whose warmth and energy kept the sessions engaging.


📚 Day 2: Alumni, Leadership, and Institutional Engagement (19th August)

The second day highlighted the power of lived experiences and organizational leadership. KTDA Foundation alumni shared testimonies of how mentorship shaped their lives.The National Chairman Chege Kirundi, The KTDA Foundation Chairman, G.G Kagombe, The KTDA Board, subsidiary heads, and senior management engaged students with lessons on governance, leadership, and opportunities within the tea value chain.

Breakout mentorship circles encouraged open dialogue, and the evening was filled with vibrant showcases of talent — from music and poetry to dance, drama, and fashion. The day was co-MC’ed by Splendor Lwoyelo and Victor Nyaata, whose partnership kept the energy high.


🌍 Day 3: Leadership and Gala Night (20th August)

The third day turned attention to leadership and celebration. Joseph Muraya reflected on the role of media, Judith Busiliru emphasized integrity and values in leadership, Dr. Elizabeth provided practical insights on health and life skills, and Professor Mburu encouraged bold thinking and lifelong learning.

The evening culminated in a colorful Gala Night, where students showcased creativity through modern and traditional dance, gospel music, poetry, drama, fashion, and sign language presentations. Recognition awards honored outstanding students for talent, discipline, and active participation. The day’s sessions and Gala Night were steered to success by MC Splendor Lwoyelo, closing the mentorship on a high note.

The success of the 8th Mentorship Programme was anchored in the visionary leadership of KTDA Foundation General Manager, Mr. Sudi Biko Matara, and the unwavering support of the Foundation’s staff: Livingstone Migowe (Education Coordinator), Geoffrey Mesocho (Accountant), Jackline Mwongera (Foundation Assistant), Bob Wachira, Wema Nyakweba, Jane Mercy Wanjiru, Allen Muthiga (Project Assistants), Marrion Mutenya and Emmanuel Onchangu (Interns), and finally Splendor Lwoyelo (Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant). Together, they created an inspiring experience that reminded every student that when dreams are nurtured, possibilities are endless.
